Macbeth - a tragedy

acrylic, marker and pencil on canvas

Having hung all of my work at Hard Road Brewery, Lein (the brewer) then pointed out a space above the window that was crying out for more art. I held out for a few days - I had enough to do! Then I weakened, and formed an idea tha would suit the long low space, and sketched away…

…and failed miserably.

But as things do, one small idea reminded me of an earlier sketch, and combined with the desire to use all the leftover bits and pieces of canvas in the house and the shed, I set about creating the story of Shakespeare’s MacBeth in 12 panels (because I had 12 stray canvas panels, of varied size and shape.)

If lucky, the last of these panels will be hung moments before the opening, possibly still damp with paint…
